Reading 1: What is globalization?
1)Summary
By reading what is globalization, it gives me a new understanding and knowledge of the word globalization and how it came to be. People initially had no accepted definition of globalization for the word globalization, and the author cites several eras of definitions of globalization, which probably tell the development of the meaning of globalization, with opposition, from single to diversified, etc. And from several broad categories such as the parameters of the general process of globalization, the dimensions of globalization, the forms of globalization, globalization and global history, globalization is not simply a single economic capitalist globalization, with which the political, cultural and social counterparts necessarily also have many connections and even exclusion. Globalization has also been extensively studied by sociology and history, from which many different dimensional aspects can be found, and we still have a long way to go on the so-called pluralistic social coloration. That is why the author stresses the importance of not making globalization specific; globalization is not a thing or an "it". Rather, it is a goal that cannot be fully achieved in the context of appropriate spatial and temporal changes.
2)Interesting point
I think it is interesting that the author introduces a lot of human aspects and social systems, not in a single presentation, but by giving many examples to explain, a combination of subjective and objective factors. For some issues of religious culture is complex, the clash of civilizations. As society progresses, the definition of globalization becomes different. And the author also mentions self-identification, which is important in the problems of multicultural societies.
3) Discussion point
If we want to globalize, we have to face four issues: social, economic, cultural and political, and what kind of understanding and attitude people have towards globalization in different countries and regions. What should we do about the subsequent integration of multiculturalism. And how to resolve the conflicts between individual countries and other political issues. Whether global localization is the best approach and what the world will become under the current trend of globalization.
