1) Summary
As for the definition of "cultural globalization", there is no clear and unified definition so far. Tomlinson put forward a proposition that "globalization is complex connection", that is, globalization refers to the concentrated development and increasingly intensive interdependent network system. Tomlinson described cultural globalization as a process of non-territorial expansion, that is, the unification of local and global cultures. Globalization is not only the global flow of capital, labor and commodities, but also fundamentally transforms the relationship between the place where we live and our cultural practice, cultural experience and cultural identity, bringing a new cultural experience-non-territorial expansion. This kind of cultural experience is secular. For example, McDonald's and Coca-Cola can quickly occupy the Asian catering industry with oriental eating habits. The cultural experience of the era of globalization is no longer confined to the locality. With the strengthening of the complex connection of globalization, "globality" is a natural thinking, and the globality and locality of culture are closely intertwined.
2) Interesting items
The author can feel this "de-territorialization" aspect of globalization in his daily practice: "When we call friends in other continents casually, we only know their' distance' according to the time difference." I think this is very interesting. The author compares the time difference to the distance, which is novel and convincing at the same time.
