What is the relation between culture and globalization? (YeonWoo Kim)

John Tomlinson defined cultural globalization as the process of changing cultural imperialism into interconnection and interdependence between all regions on Earth due to the displacement of cultural imperialism by globalization. In addition, cultural globalization was defined as an increase in the reflectivity of modern life by using the term of Anthony Giddens. At the same time, cultural globalization means cultural imperialism, and American culture influences the world as an example.

Interestingly, he looked at cultural globalization from a somewhat critical perspective. He mentioned that cultural globalization is like cultural imperialism, and cited the loss of culture in which the culture of non-Western rights disappeared as an example. In addition, talking about de-territorialization, the cultural characteristics of each region were eliminated, and now the impact of regional characteristics on modern culture has almost disappeared.

What I want to discuss is the 'positive and negative parts of cultural globalization'. Do you think cultural globalization is closer to positive or negative, and why? My answer is that it is more of a positive side. Cultural globalization is essential and unstoppable. Also, cultural globalization, as he said, appears in the form of culture eating culture, but the eaten culture is not completely eliminated. Cultural globalization also includes cultural convergence.
