What is the relation between culture and globalization?

1) Summary

The development of globalization is not only a historical process. It is a process of development from the economic field to the political and cultural fields.Tomlinson believes that globalization is a complex, accelerated and integrated process of global connectivity.Globalization refers to the rapid development and growing networks of interconnectedness and interdependence characterized by the material, social, economic and cultural life of the modern world.Tomlinson believes that there exists a multidimensional "globalization", in which the cultural dimension is an important area that needs to be studied separately.

Tomlinson illustrates the problems by studying the relationship between culture and globalization, describing communication technology, media and so on.Tomlinson denied the uniqueness of global culture. He emphasized the diversity of global culture, the spread of Western capitalist culture all over the world, and the progress of many iconic brands.Western culture is still superior. In the face of the spread of Western culture, we should be vigilant.Culture is both national and global. The prosperity of national culture promotes the prosperity and development of the nation and also promotes the development of the world. There is a mutually reinforcing relationship between globalization and culture.

2)Interesting point
