Reading Assignment 3: Political Globalization--HAO JINGYU

 1) Summary

    The two authors show different aspects of political globalisation. With the widening and deepening of the political exchanges among countries, there is a trend of interpenetration of international and domestic politics and the increasing role of international organizations and coordinating forces, and the political life of countries is also encountering more and more relevance. Political globalization is mainly reflected in two aspects: first, the politics from one country to the world, domestic politics and international politics are closely linked, domestic politics sometimes have to obey the international politics; The other consequence of political globalization is political multi-polarization.


2) Interesting points

    This has led to changes in international relations and more cooperation and coordination among countries in handling international affairs. The trend of interdependence in international political relations has been strengthened due to economic globalization, which makes compromise, cooperation and coexistence become the general trend in international relations. In the context of globalization, it is not only necessary to strengthen cooperation and establish effective international cooperation mechanisms, but also necessary compromises and concessions are the prerequisite for the most effective international cooperation. Therefore, cooperation and compromise in international politics are gradually replacing conflict and conflict as the main means of dealing with current international relations.

Take China as an example. In terms of internal affairs, globalization has put forward higher requirements and severe challenges to the governance capacity of the government. In face of the challenges, the government must update its ideas, emancipate its mind, take the initiative to reform and transform its functions so as to conform to the trend of The Times.

In foreign relations, the state should give priority to cooperation and coordination. Bilateral and bilateral exchanges should be conducted on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and cooperation. The way to resolve political conflicts and economic disputes is increasingly dependent on arbitration and intervention of international organizations. Now is the new era of network, media communication also promotes the core of political latent change.


3) Discussion points

    The globalization of politics is generally benign, but how can we optimize the negative effects of this progress, since some of the drawbacks can undermine national security systems?

Hofstede's dimensions_ Comparing South Korea, China, Japan (MINJI JEONG)

       Korea, China, and Japan are three neighboring countries in Central Asia and have many cultural connections. Therefore, the three countries were compared through the Hofstede's index. First, it is Power Distanced. This is an indicator of the hierarchical degree of each country. The hierarchies of the three countries are in the order of China, Korea, and Japan.      In terms of individualism , Japan has the highest score of 46. It can be interpreted that this item means the degree of personalization of the country. In comparison, China and Korea recorded around 20 points.
